    Just a short drive northwest of Regina, Over the Hill Orchards and Winery stands as a beacon of organic farming, boasting an impressive array of exotic fruits such as Prairie Cherries, Georgian peaches, Arkansas blackberries, French strawberries, and grapes sourced from Europe and California. This family-oriented destination welcomes visitors from May through October each year, offering a slice of authentic prairie life and unforgettable experiences in the valley.     A few of the key experiences on offer for the 2024 season include: 

    Best Patio Views in Saskatchewan: Nestled amidst breathtaking views of the Qu'appelle Valley, the patio welcomes guests from Wednesday to Sunday, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. It's the perfect spot to savour house-made wines, indulge in delectable dessert offerings, and soak in the serene landscape.

    Picnic in the Orchard: Elevate your visit with their "Picnic in the Orchard" experience. Choose between the Deluxe Hilltop Gazebo or one of five unique picnic sites, each offering a distinct charm and views. Your picnic comes neatly packed in a backpack, complete with bread, cheese, buffalo jerky, jam, a bottle of wine, wine glasses, a blanket, utensils, and napkins. Simply select your preferred date, time, and wine, and Over the Hill Orchards and Winery​ will handle the rest.

    Supper in the Orchard: In collaboration with esteemed local chefs, Over the Hill Orchards and Winery presents "Suppers in the Orchard" every weekend. These culinary evenings feature a multi-course meal crafted predominantly from local and orchard-fresh ingredients. The evening kicks off on the outdoor patio, weather permitting, offering guests a chance to enjoy a drink with a view, followed by a cozy indoor setting by large picture windows for the supper. The event includes a brief introduction to the orchard's history by owners, Dean and Sylvia Kreutzer, and a presentation of the evening's chefs. Guests are also treated to a 30-minute orchard tour between courses. The supper experience starts at 6:30 p.m. and concludes around 9 p.m.

    Spanning over 40 acres, Over the Hill Orchards and Winery is constantly evolving to offer new and unique experiences for visitors of all ages. See you at the Orchard!

    Over the Hill Orchards and Winery | Supper in the Orchard

    ​Over the Hill Orchards and Winery partners with Regina and area chefs to hold suppers in the orchard. Every Friday and Saturday, a different local chef will create a multi-course supper using mainly ingredients from local farms and the orchard.

    Doors open at 5:30, and supper begins at 6:30. The evening begins on the outdoor patio (weather permitting) where you can enjoy a glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage, and take in the beautiful view of the valley. Twenty minutes before the supper begins, you'll be shown to your assigned seats in the winery where Sylvia will briefly discuss the history of the orchard and introduce the chef(s) for the evening. The chef(s) discuss what is on the menu, and proceed with serving the first course. In between courses, Dean will lead you on an approximately 30-minute tour of the orchard (weather permitting) to show many of the fruits they grow, and their unique growing methods. Typically the evening ends around 8:30-9 p.m.

    Over the Hill Orchards and Winery Guided Orchard Tour

    Over the Hill Orchards and Winery offers guided walking tours of their orchard during their open season! Owner, Dean Kreutzer, takes you on a fun and fascinating tour of the orchard operation. See all types of fruit trees such as Prairie Cherries, apricots, as well as exotic fruit such as peaches, blackberries, and wine grapes. Dean explains how he grows all of these non-hardy fruits using containers and his inovative growing systems. 5,000 strawberry plants are grown in raised containers for easy picking! You'll see his 100-year old cherry pitting machine, and you'll feel his passion for fruit breeding to create fruit trees that are hardy for the prairies.

    The tour is $20/person with a minimum tour size of 10 people. It generally lasts 1.5-hours depending on questions asked, and is suitable for all ages as extensive walking isn't required. Wheelchair accessible.
