Moose Mountain Provincial Park

What to do while you are here

Moose Mountain Provincial Park is the jewel of southeast Saskatchewan.

Water Recreation

There are two main lakes in Moose Mountain Provincial Park: Kenosee and Little Kenosee.

The main beach and swimming area is located on Kenosee Lake and is the perfect place to spend the day relaxing. There is a nearby grassy area with picnic tables, barbecues and a playground.

A boat launch is available on Kenosee Lake and it is a popular destination for a wide variety of water sports. Little Kenosee Lake is a non-motorized lake, so it's perfect for a serene canoe or kayak excursion.

There is an extensive trail system for hiking, mountain biking, ATVing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Several trails offer interpretive signage and in July and August, park interpreters lead guided walks through the beautiful stands of aspen, birch, green ash and Manitoba maple that make up the park.

ATV Trails

ATV enthusiasts are welcome to enjoy the designated ATV trails from June 15 to Labour Day Monday each year. Prior to use, riders must obtain a no cost permit from the visitor centre. ATVs are only permitted on the designated trails and must be trailered to the trailhead (west of the Texas gate on Centre Road). Call the park prior to trail use, as the trail will periodically be closed for maintenance or to minimize potential ecological damage.

Other Amenities

Tennis courts and a basketball hoop are located next to the recreation hall, near the main beach. A baseball diamond is located across from the main beach parking lot.

Stop by the Visitor Centre to learn about park programs and events, pick up maps, borrow sports equipment and obtain an ATV trail permit.

The Artist Colony is located in the stone cabins adjacent to the Visitor Centre. It features studio and display space for local artists.

Moose Mountain Provincial Park also offers a wide variety of other services, including grocery and convenience store, laundromat, 18-hole golf course, resort and cabin accommodations and more. Visit our What's Nearby page for all of the details.
