Pike Lake Provincial Park

What to do while you are here

Pike Lake Provincial Park is your destination for recreation and relaxation.

Water Recreation

Pike Lake Provincial Park offers exceptional water recreation, including swimming and boating.

Pike Lake features the Leisure Pool, a heated outdoor swimming pool, which is open from mid-June to Labour Day and offers swimming lessons each summer. Swimming lessons can be booked using the reservation system

The Leisure Pool has a couple of special features - the pool is fully wheelchair accessible and for the adventurous, there is fantastic water slide that's fun for all ages.

The main beach and swimming area, located just off the main parking lot, is the perfect place to spend the day relaxing. There is a nearby grassy area with picnic tables, barbecues and a playground.

A boat launch for the lake is available. Motors are limited to a maximum size of 10 hp on Pike Lake.

While Pike Lake may not be famous for its fishing, there are definitely fish to be caught. Stop by the park office for tips on fishing hot spots.

Lakeside Promenade

This barrier-free trail enables anyone to go for a stroll along the shore of Pike Lake. Observation decks take you out over the water for a close up look at aquatic life and waterfowl. The trail begins at the beach and takes you to the mouth of the creek that feeds the lake.

Gift of Green Nature Trail

This nature trail follows a 1.5 km loop and winds through an aspen woodland, over shortgrass prairie and across sand dunes. Bicycles are not permitted on the trail.

Other Amenities

Tennis courts, sand volleyball courts and horseshoe pits are all located near the main beach. These are free to use and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pike Lake Provincial Park also offers a wide variety of other services, including a convenience store, rental cabins, yoga, mini-golf, water craft rental and more. Visit our What's Nearby page for all of the details.
