Entertainment and Events

Like the diverse landscape and eclectic mix of activities, East Central Region events offer a vast array of pleasures. Five major polkafests attract visitors to Manitou Beach, Melfort, Lintlaw and Humboldt. During July and August, Birch Hills even offers visitors the opportunity to learn skills on instruments such as the guitar, bass, piano, fiddle, mandolin and drums at the Pelletier Guitar & Music Camp.

Danceland at Manitou Beach is a must-see! The floor is built on horsehair, creating a floating effect that makes you feel like you’re dancing on air. The annual Rockin @ the River outdoor festival has made Preeceville a favourite destination for music fans.

Dancing Sky Theatre, in Meacham, offers professional theatre in a rural setting. Original performances often focus on regional stories and issues.

In winter, take in dog sledding action at the Mushers Rendezvous near Preeceville, visit Bredenbury and see an entire town brilliantly lit for the holiday season, or enjoy one of the many winter festivals. Bring your sense of adventure and healthy appetite for fun!
