Rivers form an important part of the landscape in West Central Saskatchewan. Commune with nature as you follow walking trails through prairie valley and river landscapes. Visit the interpretive centre at the Redberry Lake Biosphere Reserve, a federal bird sanctuary and UNESCO site, and learn about the area’s bird population, including some rarely-seen species.
Enjoy outdoor activities like golf, fishing, camping and beach fun at provincial and regional parks, including Battlefords, Pike Lake, Emerald Lake and Sandy Beach. In winter, explore cross-country ski trails or check out the slopes Table Mountain, near Battleford.
For a relaxing walk, with an exciting twist, stop by Outlook and check out Canada’s longest pedestrian bridge, the SKYTRAIL CPR Pedestrian Bridge. Stretching 3,000 feet, and hanging 150 feet above the South Saskatchewan River, the view from the bridge is spectacular.
