Inaugural North American Endurance Snowkite Event

Wind? Check! Wide open spaces? Check! The perfect location for snowkiting? You bet! Saskatchewan is the ideal winter playground for an endurance snowkite event. On February 14-15, riders from all over North America will gather near Regina to compete at Red Bull Canada’s Kite Farm, the first-ever North American endurance snowkite challenge.

Northwest of the city, just off of Highway 11, riders will test their endurance as they complete 10 laps, each 5-km. Natural and man-made on-course features will challenge even the most experienced competitors. The prairie rolls into a 30-ft cliff of powder that leads into a creek bed, making for some exciting kite runs.  The top competitors will receive an all-expense paid trip to Norway, where they will represent North America at Red Bull Ragnarok in April 2015.

Red Bull Kite Farm is free for spectators and the public to attend. Many on-site activities will take place, including sleigh rides, a snow slid and food services. Concerned about being cold? Don’t be. There will be warm-up tents and multiple bonfires to help you stay warm.
