Bengough Location: 22 km S of Bengough on Hwy 34 and 5 km W on grid road. Watch for sign at turn-off.
A relic from the ice age, this free standing structure with a circumference of 0.5 km and an elevation of 60 m, was a landmark to the Indigenous people, the North West Mounted Police (NWMP) and early Canadian settlers. Composition is sandstone and clay-based with alkali and coal deposits.
