It's that time again, everyone's favorite time of the year: OKTOBERFEST!

Once again, the Regina German Club will host a two-day event, kicking off with Auftakt Festessen on Friday, October 13 at 7 p.m. Enjoy a delicious traditional German-style meal, and take in the popular Mr and Ms Oktoberfest Contest. Proud of your German roots, or just simply love the German culture? Well, this contest is for you. Contest is open to all who would like to partake; with the newly crowned Mr and Ms Oktoberfest representing the German Club at other cultural events held within the city. Both winners will receive a beautiful basket filled with items generously donated by businesses in Regina.

Oktoberkinderfest takes place on Saturday, October 14. From 2 - 5 p.m., take in an afternoon filled with activities for children of all ages. Entertainment for the afternoon includes Regina Costume League, Becky - The Face Painter, Windswept Mininatures featuring two miniature ponies and two goats, Dino Bouncers, Keegan Duck - Magic & Entertainment, games and more. Traditional food and drinks will be available to purchase. Children's raffle.

Evening portion kicks off at 5 p.m. and continues through the night until 1 a.m.. "Tom Reinhardt" will start the evening getting the dance floor packed, and the crowd going at 5:30 p.m. Later in the evening a keg tapping ceremony will take place with City Representative, President of the German Club, and the newly crowned Mr and Ms Oktoberfest participating. Performances will include Das Volle Lederpaket, and again a few other surprises are in the works. Later in the evening "Corner Stone Band" will hit the stage, and lead us into the wee morning. So, do not forget to bring your dancing shoes. Traditional food and the best selection of German Import Bier will be available for purchase.
