Saskatchewan Winter

A blanket of white and crisp, clean air: it's a whole new world!

We are truly blessed in Saskatchewan. Every year, without ever getting on a plane or into a car, we are transported to a whole new world. In this world, ice crystals make the crisp, clean air sparkle and dance; frost clinging to branches turns trees into natural sculptures; northern lights can fill the sky with colour and the mind with wonder; and fresh, soft snow turns everything it touches white. This is the world of winter.

The Saskatchewan way is to embrace winter and the opportunities it creates. Winter festivals, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, hiking, tobogganing, snow tubing, hockey, skating, curling, dog sledding, ice fishing, horseback riding and sleighing – if you can do it on snow, you can do it in Saskatchewan!

Feel free to roam around our website’s special Winter section: explore activities you’ve never tried, plan an outdoor adventure vacation or romantic northern getaway, or add some variety to your visit home for the holidays.
