Hwy 123

The northern village of Cumberland House is located 163km NE of Nipawin at the end of Hwy 123. During the fur trade era, the community served as a key supply depot and transportation hub as waterways led N and NW to the fur-rich Churchill and Athabasca regions, E to Hudson Bay and SW onto the plains. Today, the community retains a small business core while the unique and long history of the community is displayed through artifacts and photos at the local museum.
