Métis Fall Festival
Prince Albert, September 19-21 2008
The Prince Albert Exhibition Centre is the site of the 14th annual Métis Fall Festival. This annual celebration of Métis traditions and heritage will include square dancing and jigging competitions, children's events, fiddling through the ages by Aboriginal artists, an old time dance competition, an amateur talent show and more. Métis youth ambassadors and role models will be in attendance.
While the festival gets rolling on the weekend, the official opening and flag raising ceremonies will be held in Memorial Square at noon on Monday, September 15.
Other weekend activities include a pancake breakfast, children's events, arts and crafts booths, and educational displays. Kick up your heels Métis-style at alcohol-free dances held on Friday and Saturday nights with music by Highway Express.
