Beat the Winter Blues… With a Blues Festival

Blues FestivalsIn Saskatchewan, we beat the cold weather blues with none other than Blues Festivals! There are a number of blues music festivals happening in the province during the month of February. Read on to find a blues festival near you.

Mid-Winter Delta Blues Festival, Regina
February 25 - 27, 2010
This is the 16th annual event that celebrates blues music in Regina. Performances will be held at various venues throughout Regina. These three nights of the best blues music in Saskatchewan will feature headliners such as Sonny Landreth, Omar and the Howlers, Ana Popovic, as well as local blues talent.

Saskatoon Blues Festival, Saskatoon
February 25 - 28, 2010
The festival brings the blues to Saskatoon with a variety of local, regional and national artists. This event opens Thursday with local acts. Friday and Saturday feature acoustic room shows, workshops and a jam. Finally, there will be workshops, jam sessions and a windup party on Sunday.
