Blues Festivals

Blues festivals are meant to cure the winter blues, the soulful music and warm atmosphere can make anyone forget about blustery winter nights. Be sure to take in the talent that will be coming through the province at the end of the month. There are three festivals to choose from; The Annual Saskatoon Blues Festival, Stir Crazy Blues Festival in Swift Current and Regina’s Mid-Winter Blues Festival.

The Annual Saskatoon Blues Festival, Saskatoon
February 25 - March 3, 2013
This year's line-up includes; Apollo Cruz, Albert Castiglia, Steve James, Transcontinental Blues Band, Blind Boy Paxton, Marcia Ball and many more. All shows take place at either the Odeon Electric Blues Room or the Hilton Garden Acoustics Blues Room.

The Stir Crazy Blues Festival, Swift Current 
February 28 – March 2, 2013
All performances will be happening at the Lyric Theatre. The weekend features the talents of The Steve Strongman Band, The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer and Shakura S’Aida.

Mid-Winter Blues Festival, Regina
February 28 – March 2, 2013
Eddie and the House Rockers, Jack Semple Band, Bill Durst, Evan Chambers & The Third Alarm, Powder Blues Band, Kim Wilson’s Blues Allstars and many others with be playing. On Thursday, February 28, shows will take place at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum. You can catch the Friday and Saturday acts at Casino Regina.
