Spring Road Trip 2011
Spring fever has hit us here at Tourism Saskatchewan! And, what better way to celebrate the impending warm weather than with a road trip?
From March 25-27, we are sending our travel correspondent Becky and her sidekick Rocco back on the road, this time to the southern regions of the province. While the snow might not be completely gone by then, there is still plenty to see and do indoors.
During their road trip, Becky and Rocco will travel through southern Saskatchewan towns of Weyburn, Forget, Ogema, Assiniboia, Val Marie, and Gravelbourg, just to name a few. They plan to visit such attractions as the Claybank Brick Plant National Historic Site, the Soo Line Historical Museum (which houses the Charles Wilson Silver Collection), the Happy Nun Café and Ananda Arthouse in Forget, the Shurniak Art Gallery in Assiniboia, and Grasslands National Park of Canada – again, just to name a few.
They will also be searching out unique and hidden places to eat and stay. Plus, they’re open to suggestions, so if you know of a hidden gem in southern Saskatchewan, let them know on Facebook or Twitter, and they will do their best to get there.
And as always, they will be documenting their trip through photos and video, and sharing it all online. So follow along and see what Becky and Rocco discover during their Spring Road Trip through southern Saskatchewan!
