Experience the Excitement of a Saskatchewan Ukrainian Festival
Saskatchewan’s proud multicultural heritage is celebrated throughout the province year-round, but spring is the time of year when some major cultural events really take centre stage. This is definitely the case for Ukrainian festivals.
Ukrainian festivals are high-energy events that feature nimble dancers, colourful costumes, great traditional music, and of course, fantastic Ukrainian food. These festivals may feature group or individual dance competitions or entertaining demonstration of particular dances in showcases. Festivals also often include arts and crafts sales, bands, choirs and more.
Here are a few of Saskatchewan’s upcoming Ukrainian festivals:
Pysanky Making, Lloydminster
Svoboda Ukrainian Dance Festival, North Battleford
Veselka, Foam Lake
Kalyna Festival of Ukrainian Dance, Yorkton
Vesna Festival 2012, Saskatoon
3rd Annual Regina Ukrainian Fall Fest, Regina
Ukrainian Day in the Park, Saskatoon
