Organizers are titling this year’s performance "Riel's Reunion – 125th Anniversary and Year of the Métis Reunion Performance". What that means is that this year they intend to bring back all the former 'Riels' who have played the role over the past 44 years, making it possible for The Trial of Louis Riel to remain the longest running theatre production in Saskatchewan, and second in Canada next to Anne of Green Gables. The 'Riels', which include, Steve Arsenych, Ron Jooristy, Bob Medak, Richard Lapointe, Del Fraser, Alain Clarmont, Wilfred Gayleard, and Guy Michaud, will comprise the six-man jury during the performance of the trial. Normally, the jury is made up of people chosen from the audience.
