Fur Wheel Drive Adventure
$ 800 cdnAvailable from 15-Dec-2013 to 15-Mar-2014 3 Day / 2 Night package
Do you like to travel off the beaten path? Are you looking for a new challenge? Paws'n'Paddles Wilderness Tours offers you the unique opportunity to experience an authentic dog sledding adventure in the remote wilderness of Northern Saskatchewan. After a short introduction to the dogs, gear and sleds we will head out with fully loaded sleds through a winter wonderland of snow covered trees and across frozen lakes.
You have two options to spend the night: We can pick a campsite along the trail and set up our own winter camp. You will help set up a trapper-style wall tent, cut fire wood for the night and look after the dogs' needs. There is nothing like sleeping on a bed of spruce boughs, snug in your sleeping bag, the tent stove crackling. Your second option is to stay in a remote cabin, fully winterized and cosily warm. You might even have some energy left to go for a night snowshoe walk under the Northern Lights.
The next day we will spend exploring the area with the dogs, either following established trails or breaking our own with snowshoes. This night we will have lots of time for campfire tales. Tell us about your own adventures or ask our guides about their Arctic expeditions, the history of the area or their experiences in dog sled racing.
The next morning we will head back after breakfast to give you enough time to head home.
