Waterhen River White Water Canoe Day Trip
$ 40 cdnAvailable from 30-May-2015 to 30-Sep-2015
Located in Meadow Lake Provincial Park, the Waterhen River is beautiful, full of wildlife, and great rapids.
Starting at the Goodsoil bridge, learn or brush up on your skills on this fun half-day trip. We navigate through a series of class two boulder garden rapids with lots of waves and excitement. It's a great run mixed with boreal forest scenery and amazing wildlife including blue herons, pelicans, osprey, eagles, bears, and we've even caught a glimpse of a wolf.
As an added bonus halfway in the trip we pull up on one of the parks brand new backcountry sites for the 125km Boreal Trail! All of these sites are designed keeping the standards of Leave No Trace principles in mind and includes a fire pit, bear locker, and a green machine toilet. All of the advantages of the backcountry with some of the comforts of home.
We love backcountry cooking so our halfway point is also our lunch stop!
