Saskatchewan has more roads than any other province in Canada. Many of them lead somewhere interesting. The 142-km stretch of Highway 11 between Saskatoon and Prince Albert, a section of the Louis Riel Trail, is no exception.

Wanuskewin Heritage Park near Saskatoon has introduced bison to the park as the beginning of a conservation herd that is as close as possible, genetically, to the pure Plains bison that existed 200 years ago. 

While northern pike are the main attraction here, other species lurk beneath the surface such as walleye, lake trout and arctic grayling. Your quest during your stay is to catch some of each to qualify for the grand slam.
