From time to time things change, life happens and plans have to be adjusted. Here is what you need to know should you need to change or cancel your reservations or bookings.

Changes or Cancellations

  • A $12 reservation fee covers the cost of administering the reservation service. An additional $2 surcharge will apply to all transactions using the call centre. 
  • Change and cancellation penalties are based on the type of site reserved. These fees are in addition to the reservation fee.
  • Reservation, change and cancellation fees are non-refundable.
  • Depending on when a cancellation or change is made, penalties may apply.

Nightly / Equestrian / Camp-Easy: Change or Cancellation Penalties

  • Double sites must be reserved, changed and cancelled together.
  • Camp-Easy: A refundable damage deposit is owed in full at the time of reservation.  Damage deposits will be held by Sask Parks for the duration of the reservation and will be refunded if the site remains in good condition. In the event the reservation site is damaged, items included in the site are lost or missing, or non-compliance with the rules has resulted in loss, the damage deposit will be retained and used to remedy the damage or loss.
  • Changes to dates, permit holder name, park or site made prior to 2 p.m. CST of scheduled arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation more than 24 hours prior to 2 p.m. CST of arrival will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation less than 24 hours prior to 2 p.m. CST of arrival will result in the forfeit of two nights of camping.
  • Extending your stay will not incur additional reservation charges, however additional nightly camping fees will be charged.
  • Once checked-in at the park, all changes and cancellations must occur at the park. Early departure will result in the forfeit of two camping nights.
  • You are considered a no-show and automatically cancelled by the park if the site is not occupied by 2 p.m. CST on second day of reservation. No-shows result in the forfeit of up to four nights of camping. 

Seasonal Campsite: Change or Cancellation Penalties

  • Changes to site can only be made prior to 11:59 a.m. CST Wednesday before Victoria Day. Changes will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Cancelling prior to 11:59 p.m. CST Wednesday before Victoria Day will result in 10% of the seasonal rate being forfeited.
  • Cancelling on or after Thursday before Victoria Day will result in 10% of the seasonal rate being forfeited plus the regular nightly rate multiplied by the number of nights occupied regardless of if camping unit is onsite.
  • You are considered a no-show and automatically cancelled by the park if site is not occupied by June 24 prior to noon CST. No-shows result in the forfeit of 10% of the seasonal rate plus the regular nightly rate multiplied by the number of nights from Thursday before Victoria Day to June 24, regardless of if camping unit is onsite. 

Additional Info:

When vacating the campsite at the end of the season, the permit holder must remove all personal property and restore the campsite to its original condition. If the campsite is not restored to its original condition, the ministry reserves the right to restore the campsite and charge the associated costs for restoration of the campsite. Failure to comply with the above conditions and Parks Act and Regulations may result in eviction and/or loss of the seasonal campsite for the season, or in future seasons.

Group Campsites: Change or Cancellation Penalties

  • Changes to dates, permit holder name, park or campsite made prior to 2 p.m. CST of scheduled arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation more than 14 days prior to 2 p.m. CST of arrival will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation 14 days or less prior to 2 p.m. CST of arrival will result in the forfeit of two nights of group camping.
  • Extending your stay will not incur additional reservation charges, however additional nightly camping fees will be charged.
  • Once checked-in at the park, all changes and cancellations must occur at the park.  Early departure will result in the forfeit of two camping nights.
  • You are considered a no-show and automatically cancelled by the park if the site is not occupied by 2 p.m. CST on second day of reservation. No-shows result in the forfeit of 4 nights of group camping. 

Pavilion: Change or Cancellation Penalties

  • Pavilions are reservable up to 48 hours prior check-in time.
  • Changes to dates or permit holder name made prior to 11 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Extending your reservation will not incur additional reservation transaction fee charges, however the additional rental fees will be charged.
  • Shortening or cancelling your reservation more than 14 days prior to 11 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Shortening or cancelling your reservation 14 days or less prior to 11 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $50 change fee.
  • You are considered a no-show if the pavilion is cancelled after 11 a.m. CST on arrival date. No-shows result in 100% of the total rental cost being forfeited. 
  • Once checked-in at the park, all changes and cancellations must occur at the park.   

Picnic Shelter: Change or Cancellation Penalties

  • Picnic shelters are reservable up to 48 hours prior to arrival. Changes to reservations within 48 hours of check-in time must be made with the park.
  • Changes to dates or permit holder name made prior to 8 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Extending your reservation will not incur reservation transaction fee charges, however the additional rental fees will be charged.
  • Shortening or cancelling your reservation more than 14 days prior to 8 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Shortening or cancelling your reservation 14 days or less prior to 8 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $30 change fee.
  • You are considered a no-show if the reservation is cancelled after 8 a.m. CST on arrival date. No-shows result in 100% of the total rental cost being forfeited.
  • Once checked-in at the park, all changes and cancellations must occur at the park. 

Recreation Hall: Change or Cancellation Penalties

  • Changes to dates or cancellations made more than 14 days more prior to 8 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Changes to dates or cancellations made 14 days or less prior to 8 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $100 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • You are considered a no-show if the recreation hall is cancelled after 8 a.m. CST on arrival date. No-shows result in 100% of the total rental cost being forfeited.
  • Once checked-in at the park, all changes and cancellations must occur at the park. 

Swimming Lesson: Change or Cancellation Penalties

  • Changes to dates, participant names or swimming level or cancellations made before 12 p.m. CST on the Friday prior to the first day of swimming lessons will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made after 12 p.m. CST of the Friday prior to the first day of swimming lessons will result in the forfeit of all swimming costs. 

Refunding camping fees will be considered if:

  • The customer attempted to cancel their reservation or notified Saskatchewan Provincial Parks of their circumstances.
  • There are grounds for a refund. 

The Refund Application Eligibility criteria below provides guidelines for what constitutes a refund.

At the park: Once you're in the park, with the permit for your site and choose to leave early - you will lose the cost of up to 4 remaining camping nights. Refund requests at the park should be directed to park management.

Before proceeding to the refund application, review the following:  Important Notes:
  1. Before completing the Refund Application Form you must cancel or change reservation through our Online Reservation Site or Call Centre 1-833-7SKPARK (1-833-775-7275). 
  2. In no circumstances will non-refundable fees include reservation, cancellation and change fees be refunded.
  3. Refund Application must be received within three months of the departure date to be accepted.
  4. Refund Application are processed within six weeks.
  5. Saskatchewan Provincial Parks will not respond to applications that do not have grounds for a refund.
  6. Entrance to, attendance at, or use of a Saskatchewan Provincial Park, including the use of park equipment or facilities, carry risks of injury or loss or damage of personal property. Park users acknowledge and assume all risks, which may include lost, stolen, or damaged property, as well as personal injury to oneself or to any family members or guests. The Government of Saskatchewan and its officers, agents, and employees do not assume liability for any lost, stolen, or damaged property, or for any injury incurred while visiting Saskatchewan Provincial Parks.

Refunds will NOT be given:

  • If wildlife (bears, cougars, etc.) or insects (tent caterpillars, ticks, etc.) are in the campsite/campground or damaged/destroy personal property.
  • For Weather (temperature, rain, snow, etc.) or air quality issues (wildfire smoke, etc.). 
  • Because fire bans/restrictions are in effect.
  • For in-park conditions (unsatisfactory conditions, poor customer service, etc.). These requests for refund must be directed to the Park Manager.
  • For early departure, a maximum of two two nights camping will be forfeited. (Exceptions - see Refunds below)
  • If expected or common park conditions trigger existing medical condition (reaction to bee sting, or asthma attack from campfire smoke, etc.) or if someone in the camping party gets ill but does not require medical attention.
  • For errors made on reservation by the reservation holder.
  • For minor vehicle issues including breakdowns, repairs or other equipment issues.
  • When a reservation cancellation or change falls within the penalty period.
  • For plans change due to arrangements falling through (childcare, pet care, getting called into work, etc).

Refunds will only be given:

  • For incorrect charges caused by technical issues on our Online Reservation Site.
  • When you are unable to enter campgrounds or access campsites due to natural disasters, road closures or other park-related emergencies.
  • For medical emergencies that prevent you from fulfilling the reservation. 
    • These applications require a doctor’s note or proof that a member of the camping party was seriously injured or admitted to the hospital.  
      • Dates on the medical note or document must coincide with the arrival date. 
      • Where applicable, the permit holder must cancel or change the reservation immediately.
  • If there is a death in the immediate family
    • Where applicable, the permit holder must cancel or change the reservation immediately. 
    • (Immediate family: parent, spouse, child, grandchild, grandparent, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and any other relative permanently residing in the same household.) *Death of friends, distant relatives or pets do not qualify for refund.”
  • When the reservation holder or camping party member are in a serious motor vehicle accident that prevent customers from fulfilling their reservation. Applications require an accident report dated within the reservation time period.
  • For Winter Camping we will refund reservation and camping fees for unused nights (Nov 1, 2022 – Mar 31, 2023) if you cancel your winter camping reservation due to the following conditions:
    • When temperature reaches -26 degrees Celsius or below with wind chill during your scheduled stay in a provincial park; or
    • When you are unable to enter campgrounds or access campsites due to natural disasters, road closures (including travel not recommended advisories due to winter conditions as designated on the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline), or other park-related emergencies.
