Facility Rentals

Recreation halls: Available for the public to rent at any time during a park’s season of operation, these halls offer tables, chairs and a washroom facility. Some also include kitchens for an additional fee. Recreation halls can be reserved by calling the park directly.

Picnic shelters: Many of our provincial parks offer picnic shelters that can be reserved prior to arrival. These shelters offer picnic tables, barbeques and/or wood stoves, and are within close proximity to washrooms and water taps. Some other parks offer non-reservable picnic shelters which are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interested in hosting a Special Event?

A special event within the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport is defined as any activity out of a provincial park’s ordinary routine that occurs one to two times per calendar year. Examples include athletic events, car shows, concerts, film productions, fishing derbies, fundraisers, weddings, etc. 

What is required to host a Special Event?
  1. Complete and submit a Special Event Application.
  2. Receive agreement and/or permit for approved event.
  3. Pay applicable special event fees.
  4. Abide by all conditions agreed upon. 

Reservation Fees and Charges

  • Fees and penalties are based on the reservation type as outlined in Fees and Charges.
  • Reservation charges, change and cancellation fees, and call centre surcharges are non-refundable. Under extenuating circumstances, campers may be eligible for a refund of camping fees if the request meets the grounds for refund.

Recreation Hall Reservations - Know Before You Go
  • The permit holder will be responsible for any damages to the recreation hall.
  • Alcohol is permitted. It is the renter’s responsibility to obtain a liquor license, and a copy of this license must be provided to the park.
  • Smoking is not permitted inside the facility.
  • Reservation will be held for the entire day that a hall is reserved.
  • Renter must be older than 18 years of age to rent a recreation hall.
  • Renter is required to complete and sign the Application and Agreement to apply for the use of a recreation hall.
  • If occupant does not check-in at the park office before reservation hours, it is considered a no-show.
  • Recreation hall reservations can occur year round.

 

Picnic Shelter Reservations - Know Before You Go
  • Reservations do not have to be made to utilize a reservable picnic shelter. However, customers with reservations are guaranteed use of the shelter, even if a non-reserved group is using it.
  • If a non-reserved group is using a picnic shelter, and a reserved group arrives, preference is given to the reserved group.
  • Alcohol is not permitted.
  • The permit holder will be responsible for any damages to the shelter.
  • Maximum one day booking.
  • Parks cannot guarantee the amount of picnic tables.
  • Customers must be 18 years or older to reserve a picnic shelter.
  • Check-in: 8 a.m. | Check-out: 8 p.m.
  • Times may change depending on Park operating hours, therefore it is the customer’s responsibility to check with the park prior to arrival.
  • Reservation will be held for the entire day that a shelter is reserved..

Changes or Cancellations

  • A Non-refundable reservation fee is charged per reservation: $12/online - $14/call centre
  • Change and Cancellation penalties are based on the type of site reserved.
  • Depending on when a cancellation or change is made, penalties may apply. These penalties are applied as forfeited. If you change your reservation to a different Saskatchewan Provincial Park - it is still considered a cancellation.

Recreation Hall: Change or Cancellation Penalties

  • Changes to dates and times or cancellations made 30 days or more prior to 9:00 a.m. of arrival date will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Changes or cancellations made 30 days or less prior to 9:00 a.m. of arrival date to a recreation hall less than 200 square meters will incur a $50 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Changes or cancellations made 30 days or less prior to 9:00 a.m. of arrival date to a recreation hall more than 200 square meters will incur a $100 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • You are considered a no-show and automatically cancelled by the park if recreation hall is not occupied for the reservation period. No-shows result in the forfeit of 100% of the recreation hall rate.

Picnic Shelter: Change or Cancellation Penalties

  • Changes to dates or permit holder name made prior 8:00 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Cancellations completed 30 days or more prior to 8:00 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $15 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations completed 8-29 days prior to 8:00 a.m. CST of arrival date result in the forfeit of 50% of total rental cost. Cancellations completed 7 days or less prior to 8:00 a.m. CST of arrival date result in the forfeit of 75% of total rental cost.
  • You are considered a no-show if the picnic shelter is cancelled after 8:00 a.m.
