Saskatchewan's provincial parks, with their vast natural landscapes and diverse ecosystems, offer many opportunities for children to connect with nature and engage in exciting outdoor activities. Parks provide the perfect setting for unforgettable family adventures. Check out these kids' activities we recommend in Sask Parks.

Ninja Warrior Course

Is your child a mover and adventurer? Have them test their skills on the new Ninja Warrior Course at Echo Valley Provincial Park. People of all ages have been loving this structure since it opened.

Biking & Hiking

Many parks feature family-friendly hiking and biking trails suitable for all skill levels, including the Boreal Trail and Trans Canada Trail. While in nature, keep your eyes open as fall is a great time to catch glimpses of wildlife in the parks. Visit the park office to find the trails that are best suited to your ability.

Insider's Tip: Did you know a new adaptive trail at the Wascana Valley Natural Area Recreation Site has recently launched. The Wildflower Trail, a wide and hard-packed path with a gentle slope, provides an inclusive trail experience for a wide variety of users. It was created in partnership with the Saskatchewan Trails Association and the Trans Canada Trail Association to improve accessibility for all users, regardless of ability, age, or mobility.

Disc Golf

Rec Packs, including disc golf, ladder ball, bocce ball, etc., will be available at the park office upon request.

Stargazing

Stay overnight in designated camping areas and take advantage of Saskatchewan's clear night skies. Look up at all constellations, planets, and the wonders of the universe while lying under the stars.

Educational Interpretive Centres:

Visit interpretive centres within the parks. These centres often feature informative exhibits, interactive displays, and knowledgeable staff who can answer questions and provide insights about the local ecosystem.

Boating and Canoeing

Experience the lakes and rivers in our provincial parks by bringing your own paddleboat, canoe, or kayak for a family adventure on the water. Make sure to follow safety guidelines and wear life jackets.

Gather around a campfire in the evening for storytelling and marshmallow roasting. Share your thoughts or even make up your own stories to create lasting memories.
