Buffalo Pound Provincial Park

24 km N of Hwy 1 via Hwy 301.

Buffalo Pound Provincial Park, located 20 minutes northeast of Moose Jaw, combines natural beauty with a variety of recreational activities. The park, once a bison corral for First Nations, features a captive herd within its scenic landscape. Visitors can engage in activities like hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and kayaking, or play on two disc golf courses. The park also boasts a heated outdoor pool, opened in 2020, and offers stunning views of the Qu'Appelle Valley. Buffalo Pound's seven main campgrounds provide over 200 nightly campsites, with a mix of non-electric, electric and full-service sites. For accommodations, visitors can book one of the park's two Camp-Easy yurts, simplifying the camping experience. Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge also offers eco-friendly tipi cabins. Don’t forget to bring your lunch or grab a bite at The Trailhead Café, now open in the renovated Visitor Centre, where you can also enjoy free Wi-Fi.
