Fire Ban

The Ministry of Environment has lifted the FIRE BAN that was issued for all provincial parks south of the Churchill River. Due to extreme dry conditions, CAMPFIRE RESTRICTIONS are still in place for Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park and the Cypress Lake Recreation Site.

All open fires in these locations are prohibited.

For cooking and heating purposes, the following items will be permitted at park discretion:

  • Self-contained portable gas heating devices and fire pits
  • Gas barbecues
  • Pressurized stoves
  • Charcoal briquettes used in park-supplied fire pits and barbecues

The fire ban will stay in place until conditions improve and the Ministry rescinds the order.

Support fire suppression efforts. If you see a fire, report it by calling Park Watch toll-free at 1-800-667-1788.

In an emergency, call 911.

For further details on the ban or if you have any questions, visit www.saskatchewan.ca/fire or call 1-800-567-4224.
