Enjoy a six-day/five-night culinary tour of Saskatchewan. The tour travels from Saskatoon with stops at Batoche National Historic Site and Elk Ridge Resort, ending up in the Boreal Forest for a four-night stay at Thompson's Resort.
While in the Boreal Forest, learn about Indigenous culture and local ingredients and savour fantastic food. On the return trip to Saskatoon, the tour stops at Wanuskewin Heritage Park and finishes with a wrap-up meal at a local Saskatoon restaurant. Wanuskewsin invites everyone to “pe kapaysik miykowapi” (come and spend the night) with one of their Tipi Sleepovers. For over six thousand years, Wanuskewin echoed with the thundering hooves of bison and the voices of Indigenous people from across the Northern Plains. Come and relive the stories of a people who came to this site of natural beauty, and learn about how the site is still used today
Wanuskewin offers two overnight accommodation options to stay in a traditional tipi in the Opimihaw Valley. Option One (regular) can accommodate a minimum of 15 people with programming and breakfast included in rate. Guests must bring their own supplies for staying the night. Option Two (deluxe) can accommodate a minimum of six people, and includes programming, breakfast, cots, sleeping bags and pillows, supper and snacks.
