    A transitional landscape from aspen parkland to boreal forest with pockets of grasslands, Prince Albert National Park is a breathtaking and unique place to vacation. Learn about nature at this expansive 3,875 sq. km. of protected park through interpretive programs, guided hikes and interactive exhibits at the Nature Centre. Partake in countless year-round and seasonal recreational opportunities such as canoeing, kayaking, fishing, cycling, hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and more. The park features numerous multi-use trails for all skill levels.  Amenities and accommodation are available in the Waskesiu Lake townsite year-round. Campground reservations accepted for Beaver Glen and Red Deer Campgrounds starting February 2, 2024, at 8 a.m. CST.​ Reservations can be made using the Parks Canada Reservation System.

    Road and Area Closure: The Sturgeon River Bridge and Westside Trail Access in Prince Albert National Park are currently closed after the Sturgeon River Bridge sustained significant damage from record rainfalls in June 2024. The closure is in effect until further notice. See Parks Canada website or phone the Prince Albert National Park Visitor Centre for more details.

    Fascinated by the night sky and want to capture it like never before? Join Hawood Inn in Prince Albert National Park for their Aurora Weekend Package with Tim Yaworski, the Living Sky Guy. With the sun approaching peak activity, the next few years will bring more frequent and powerful aurora displays. This aurora workshop package will equip you with the knowledge to understand and photograph the northern lights. The event kicks off Saturday morning with a continental breakfast and meet-and-greet, followed by the workshop. After a free afternoon to explore the park, you'll reconvene for an evening photo shoot. While aurora sightings can't be guaranteed, the experience will be memorable regardless of the weather. Open to photographers of all levels, the workshop covers gear from smartphones to DSLR/mirrorless cameras. A tripod is required.
    The package includes a 2-night stay for November 1 and 2 in a lakeview room or a similar accommodation, one breakfast at the Hawood Inn, access to the workshop and a photo excursion. Upgrades and additional nights are available for an extra cost.

    Join a private tour or a public group tour on a 1, 2 or 3-day Prince Albert National Park Birding Tour.​ Visit the best birding hotspots in this forested Saskatchewan park, home of Grey Owl, one of Canada's first conservationists. The tour may also make stops at Nisbet Forest and Fort Carleton Provincial Historic Park. Your leader will be Stan Shadick with Saskatoon Custom Bird Tours. All proceeds support Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation. 

    Some of the special unique birds in Prince Albert National Park include Spruce Grouse, Osprey, Bald Eagle, Canada Jay and many species of warbler.​ Both novice and experienced birdwatchers are welcome. A loaner pair of binoculars may be available if requested. The leader will bring a spotting scope to allow you to view the birds under high magnification. Package price includes guiding services for each group of 1-4 persons travelling in a single vehicle.
