The small community of Sintaluta is located 16 km southeast of Indian Head along the Trans-Canada Highway. The community's name is derived from a Lakota Sioux term referring to a fox tail, which in turn refers to the nearby headwaters of the Redfox Creek which flows north to the Qu'Appelle River. During the early to mid 1900s, the bustling community was a well-established service centre for the surrounding farming area.
