4 km SW of Saskatoon via Hwys 7 and 60, enroute to Pike Lake Provincial Park.
The Saskatchewan Railway Museum is located on Highway 60, just a few minutes southwest of Saskatoon. It offers a large selection of railcars, railway buildings, and railway artifacts on a 7-acre site. This hands-on museum features a Welcome Centre with a gift shop and an accessible washroom, children's activity areas and a picnic area. There is also limited wheelchair access to the museum's displays; not all displays are accessible, please contact the museum for more information. The museum is open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Statutory Holidays from the Victoria Day weekend to the Labour Day weekend; please contact the museum before arriving to confirm hours.
The Eaton Internment Camp Permanent Exhibit, opened in 2022, is also located directly on-site. Canada’s First National Internment Operations, 1914-20, greatly impacted those unjustly interned and additional thousands labelled enemy aliens, and was a dark period in Canadian history. This powerful exhibit, together with the large Tyndall-stone Fortitude Monument (2005) and the Memorial Garden (2017), serve as an educational gateway to this period of Canada’s history.
