    An easy drive northwest of Regina, Over the Hill Orchards and Winery is an organic grower of exotic fruits including Prairie Cherries, peaches from Georgia, blackberries from Arkansas, strawberries from France and grapes from Europe and California. Picnics overlooking the valley, suppers featuring local chefs, tours of the orchard and wine tastings are available. Relax with a glass of wine and a selection of dessert appetizers on the outdoor patio overlooking the Qu’Appelle Valley. Shop for wine, Prairie Cherry Chocolates, juices, gluten-free pies, low sugar toppings and spreads.

    Over the Hill Orchards and Winery has partnered with local chefs to host Suppers In the Orchard. Every weekend, a different local chef will create a multi-course supper using mainly ingredients from local farms and the orchard. The event begins on the outdoor patio (weather permitting) overlooking the beautiful valley, where you can enjoy a glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage. Attendees are seated indoors beside large picture windows where the owners, Dean and Sylvia Kreutzer, briefly discuss the history of the orchard and introduce the chef(s) for the evening. Between courses a 30-minute tour of the orchard is offered (weather permitting). Supper begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends around 9 p.m. 

    With Picnic in the Orchard, you can book a mini getaway at the Deluxe Hilltop Gazebo or at one of five different sites, each with its own personality and view. Pick the date, time and wine. Everything your picnic requires comes ready to transport in a backpack; bread, cheese, buffalo jerky, jam, a bottle of wine, wine glasses, blanket, utensils and napkins.​

    Over the Hill Orchards and Winery - Suppers in the Orchard

    ​Over the Hill Orchards and Winery partners with Regina and area chefs to hold suppers in the orchard. Every Friday and Saturday, a different local chef will create a multi-course supper using mainly ingredients from local farms and the orchard.

    Doors open at 5:30, and supper begins at 6:30. The evening begins on the outdoor patio (weather permitting) where you can enjoy a glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage, and take in the beautiful view of the valley. Twenty minutes before the supper begins, you'll be shown to your assigned seats in the winery where Sylvia will briefly discuss the history of the orchard and introduce the chef(s) for the evening. The chef(s) discuss what is on the menu, and proceed with serving the first course. In between courses, Dean will lead you on an approximately 30-minute tour of the orchard (weather permitting) to show many of the fruits they grow, and their unique growing methods. Typically the evening ends around 8:30-9 p.m.

    Over the Hill Orchards and Winery offers guided walking tours of their orchard during their open season! Owner, Dean Kreutzer, takes you on a fun and fascinating tour of the orchard operation. See all types of fruit trees such as Prairie Cherries, apricots, as well as exotic fruit such as peaches, blackberries, and wine grapes. Dean explains how he grows all of these non-hardy fruits using containers and his inovative growing systems. 5,000 strawberry plants are grown in raised containers for easy picking! You'll see his 100-year old cherry pitting machine, and you'll feel his passion for fruit breeding to create fruit trees that are hardy for the prairies.

    The tour is $20/person with a minimum tour size of 10 people. It generally lasts 1.5-hours depending on questions asked, and is suitable for all ages as extensive walking isn't required. Wheelchair accessible.
