Jackpine Cabins - The Great Escape 2-Day All-Inclusive Paddle Package

Ruby Lake, Hudson Bay, Hudson Bay Regional Park

    May 20, 2024 to Sep 30, 2024

Pack your overnight bag, hop in your car, and enjoy the scenic drive to your new home away from home - A modern, fully furnished 2-bedroom cabin is waiting for you upon your arrival, as well as a friendly hello from one of the owners! You can spend the evening exploring our regional parks. Here you can enjoy the many walking trails and see the remnants of the 300-year-old fort (Hudson Bay Company Fur Trading Post) on the junction of the Fir, Red Deer, and Etomami Rivers. Keep your eyes open for the rare and endangered ram’s head ladyslipper which is only found in four locations in the province!
Get a good night’s rest, as the next day you’ll be canoeing or kayaking on Ruby Lake! Leave the packing to us, we've got the kayaks and canoes loaded, ready to meet you at the lake- Don't stress on the time, you can spend the entire day at the lake looking for wildlife such as black bear, moose, fox, and various birds.  Other highlights may include scoping out the various wildflowers that make the area home, looking in the waters for the remnants of the old saw-mill, or soaking up the sun on the beach. Head back to the cabin where you can indulge on a locally made pie with fruit hand-picked from the area. Top that with a scoop of cold ice cream to cool off and head over to your screened in gazebo to relax and unwind. Spend the evening listening to the sounds of nature and enjoying your last night here - tomorrow you will pack up and head home. Not to worry, you'll be leaving with plenty of stories, memories, and a part of our community.
