A globally important bird area and a Saskatchewan Birding Trail anchor site​, the Quill Lakes International Bird Area features Canada's largest saline lake and endangered species. Highlights of the area include: over one million waterfowl, shorebirds and songbirds, numerous viewing areas with trails, two nature centres and a large interpretive centre with theatre.

The Quill Lakes Interpretive Centre in Wynyard features information on the area and the bird species that can be found there. ​Maps and tourism brochures are available.

The Foam Lake Visitor Centre & Nature Centre has tourist information, campsites, a golf driving range, heritage home, nature and walking trails and interpretive nature displays.
