    Housed in a 1912 CN train station, the Avonlea Heritage Museum features a variety of themed-rooms that depict an old-time Main Street. Additional buildings include CN Cook Car, St. David's Anglican Church and the Pioneer Display Building. Be sure to take in the museum's Market Day and Barbecue. Check out the large murals of historic scenes by local artist, Paul Geraghty. 

    Come discover the Avonlea Badlands! This natural wonder is on private property and can only be accessed during a pre-booked guided tour hosted by museum staff. Your guide will meet you at the museum just before your tour time. There are no self-guided tours. Contact the museum to check availability and book your tour.

    Led by night photographer and avid aurora chaser Jeanine Holowatuik​​, Northern Escape Photography offers fun, engaging and educational workshops on night sky photography. In partnership with the Avonlea Heritage Museum, Northern Escape Photography is excited to offer their one-night Into the Badlands: Avonlea Night Photography Workshop on August 11, 30 and 31.
    The Avonlea Badlands are located on private land, making this workshop a unique opportunity to learn or practice your night photography while spending time in the scenic badlands on a guided hike. Available for all levels of photographers, this 4-hour workshop is available on the evenings of August 11, 30 and 31 and includes a 2-hour night photography presentation with personalized instructions, followed by a 2-hour guided badlands tour where you can practice your night photography in an inspiring environment.
