Located 20 minutes northeast of Moose Jaw, Buffalo Pound Provincial Park offers a balanced blend of nature and recreational opportunities. Once used by First Nations to corral bison, the park maintains a captive herd in a paddock that's situated among the area's scenic rolling hills.  

This park offers excellent hiking and biking trails, fishing, canoeing and kayaking opportunities. Enjoy migrant waterfowl viewing at Nicolle Flats Interpretive Area and Marsh Boardwalk. A great location for day-trips and multiple-night camping alike, Buffalo Pound is the perfect choice for your next visit. For that perfect getaway with minimal effort and preparation, Buffalo Pound has two Camp-Easy sites available for booking.

Buffalo Pound Provincial Park

​Take advantage of Buffalo Pound’s winter offering by visiting our fabulous tobogganing hill. Snowshoe and cross-country ski through Lower Chalet campground and see the park through a different light. Don’t forget to stop in and visit our Plains Bison herd and take a photo with family and friends at our seasonally decorated photo frame! Warm up with hot chocolate, marshmallows and hotdogs and enjoy Family Day weekend at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park, 20 minutes North of Moose Jaw or 1 hour North West of Regina.

Interested in learning about fat biking? Western Cycle and Dutch Cycle will be on location with demos and information!

Event is free to attend with valid park entry. Bring your Sask Parks annual park entry permit or purchase entry at the event.
