Turnor Lake

The northern hamlet of Turnor Lake is situated on the southwest shore of the lake of the same name. It is located 90 km north of Buffalo Narrows by road or 45 km east of La Loche by air. The community includes the hamlet of Turnor Lake and Birch Narrows First Nation. The name of the community and the lake dates back to 1918 and honours Philip Turnor, a fur trader and surveyor with the Hudson's Bay Company.
