It is situated near the unique, scenic Cactus and Dirt Hills that have some of the highest glacial push hills​ in the world. The surrounding area is home to many fascinating features and sites including remnants of Indigenous cultures, Wood Mountain and Fort Qu'Appelle trails, Oro Lake, the North West Mounted Police route to Fort McLeod and an abundant flora and fauna.
