The town's sign and slogan "New York Is Big But This Is Biggar" remains one of the most recognizable symbols for the town of Biggar along with Milo Hanson and the Hanson Buck, the world record white-tailed deer.

The scenic and challenging Biggar Golf Course features a licensed clubhouse, and even boasts a picturesque stocked trout pond.
The community was home to the late Sandra Schmirler, three time world curling champion and 1988 Olympic Gold Medalist. In her memory, The Sandra Schmirler Olympic Gold Park was constructed in 2000; the park consists of a gazebo, soccer field, playground equipment, walking paths, Memorial Wall and a Wall of Fame.
