Historic Ile a la Crosse (Sakitawak)

As a settlement, Ile a la Crosse has existed for 240 years. Notable historic figures, such as Sara Riel, the sister of Metis leader, Louis Riel are laid to rest in the cemetery. The first permanent Roman Catholic mission in Saskatchewan was established here in 1846. Detailed history book available.
