Urban Festivals

SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, Saskatoon

June 30–July 9, 2023

 

From jazz to blues and world beat to funk, you will find everything you need at Saskatchewan’s largest cultural event. The festival has some exciting changes for 2023, including a new location at Victoria Park in Riversdale, right along the banks of the beautiful South Saskatchewan River.

 

Regina Folk Fest, Regina

August 11–13, 2023

Held annually in downtown Victoria Park, the Regina Folk Festival delivers a diverse lineup of artists. The festival includes free daytime concerts and workshops on four stages, an arts market, a children’s area and an international food court.  

Top Things to Pack for Urban Festivals

Both of these festivals happen outside and seating is not provided. So, be sure to bring along a low chair or cushion to sit on, some sunglasses, sunscreen and a refillable water bottle.

Country Thunder Saskatchewan, Craven

Ness Creek Music Festival, Big River

Imagine a tent city in the forest, with live entertainment: that’s the Ness Creek Music Festival. Over 4,000 people head to northern Saskatchewan each year to enjoy indie, roots and folk music from across the globe. Enjoy shopping at the Artisan Market during the day and dance the night away under a blanket of stars!  

 

Gateway Music Festival, Bengough

Watch the sun go down in the historic Big Muddy Valley as you listen to your favourite band at the Gateway Music Festival. Some of Canada’s hottest acts, along with local talent, play at this growing festival. Camp out for the weekend and enjoy hot showers, take a dip in the swimming pool and use the cook shack.

These countryside festivals offer camping, so plan to stay onsite to make the most of the experience. Pack your camping gear, bring some bug spray and maybe have your guitar handy for a fireside singalong.
