8 Dog-friendly Getaways in Saskatchewan

Our four-legged friends are more like members of our family than just the “family pet”. So, we know how difficult it can be to leave them behind at home.

As your planning your next Saskatchewan road trip, check out these 8 dog-friendly accommodations in the province, with plenty of adventure nearby for you and your pooch to enjoy.

Note: This list is related to non-service animals. Be sure to follow all local rules and regulations and to let the accommodations provider know about your additional guest at the time of booking.

1. Regina

There are several pet-friendly hotels in Regina. Treat you and your four-legged pal to a luxurious stay at The Hotel Saskatchewan, Autograph Collection, Delta Hotels by Marriott Regina or the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Conference Centre Regina.

Explore Wascana Centre, one of the largest urban parks in North America, and enjoy views of Wascana Lake on one of the numerous walking and cycling trails in the park. Or, head outside of the city and hike along the windy trails at Wascana Valley Natural Area Recreation Site (locally known as Wascana Trails) or White Butte Trails Recreation Site.

Quench your thirst at one of Regina’s dog-friendly patios, such as Leopold’s Tavern “OG”, or grab a cone to share at Dessart Sweets Ice Cream & Candy Store.

2. Saskatoon

Experience a night under the city lights in Saskatoon. Delta Hotels by Marriott Bessborough, Alt Hotel Saskatoon and Sheraton Cavalier Saskatoon Hotel are pet-friendly and all within walking distance to the green space and paths along the South Saskatchewan River.

With over 105 km of trails inside and outside of the city, Meewasin Valley has hours of adventures waiting for you and your pal. End the day with a cocktail at dog-friendly distilleries, such as Lucky Bastard Distillers or Stumbletown Distilling. Or enjoy a locally-brewed beer on the patio at Prairie Sun Brewery.

3. Glamping Resorts Ltd.

Glamping Resorts Ltd. offers a unique “glamping” experience with two locations in Saskatchewan: Buffalo Pound Lake and Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park. Its domes are air conditioned and include a private indoor washroom and kitchenette. You and your four-legged friend will enjoy the kilometres of walking trails, scampering along the beach or lounging by your private outdoor firepit.
